Happy Mother’s Day, Everyone!

Catherine and I are just home from an amazing tour with Paul Brady. The shows were fantastic and the audiences were absolutely wonderful. I’d now like to take this opportunity to announce that Cat and I will be performing under the duo name, Fortunate Ones. We’ve got a busy schedule ahead and look forward to seeing you along the road.

Hey, friends!

Catherine and I have just returned from a week in Corner Brook and are now getting ready to head off to Toronto for the 2013 Folk Alliance International Conference. We will be joined by our Newfoundland pals, Sherman Downey and the Ambiguous Case, The Once, The Dardanelles and Amelia Curran. This will be a grand opportunity for us to perform in front of music industry professionals from all over the world and hopefully bring our music to a wider, international audience. Wish us luck!

Happy New Year, Everyone

I hope 2013 has been good to you all so far. I have the honour of announcing that Catherine and I will be opening for one of my musical heroes, Paul Brady, on a tour of England in April and May. I am extremely excited to join Paul and to return to England after an amazing tour with Sharon Shannon in November and December. Hey, Everyone

It’s been a while! What a fantastic summer the band and I have been having. Catherine and I opened for country legend Kenny Rogers, Joel Plaskett, our pals Shanneyganock and the Heartbroken, had a fantastic time at this year’s Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival and got to share the stage with our friends Alan Doyle, Barry Canning, Hey Rosetta and Newfoundland Legends The Wonderful Grand Band including my hero Ron Hynes . I figure I’ve played for over 10 000 people over the past couple months!

We’re also really looking forward to our trip to Woody Point, Newfoundland next week for the Writers at Woody Point Festival where we will be opening two sold out shows with Alan Doyle of Great Big Sea. We’ll also be making a rare stop into Corner Brook for a show at my favourite pub, The Whitehorse.

I’m in the process of booking a fall tour for Catherine and I as well. Stay tuned for dates. In the meantime, I’ll be doing two shows in St. John’s at the Commissariat House on Friday, August 31 and Saturday, September 1. Friday is sold out but there are some tickets still available for night two. They can be found at Fred’s Records on Duckworth Street in St. John’s.

Hey, Everyone.

I’m back from a wonderful tour of England and am happy to announce that I’ll be taking part in a Newfoundland/Cape Breton Songwriter’s Circle at the Rocket Room (Water Street, St. John’s) on June 21. The circle will be made up of my friends, Sean McCann of Great Big Sea, Sean Panting, Carleton Stone (CB) and Dave Sampson (CB). I’m really looking for to this one as it will be Carleton and Dave’s first introduction to Newfoundland. Ticket are available at Rocket Bakery and Fred’s Records and are $20 tax included. Good morning, everyone.

I wanted to give a big thanks to the fantastic people involved with the Trails, Tales and Tunes Festival in Norris Point, Newfoundland. The band and I had an amazing time and were honoured to be a part of such a great event. This little festival is really starting to spread its wings and I encourage everyone to take it in next year.

I’m getting ready to head off to England tonight to begin my first international tour. I will be sharing the stage with Tristan Mackay (www.tristanmackay.com). I’m really excited and hope to see some of you along the way.

New spring/summer shows have been added to the calendar including a return visit to the wonderful Trails, Tales and Tunes Festival in Norris Point, Newfoundland and my first international tour gets under way in less than two weeks. I’ll be heading to England for a number of shows across the country. The band and I will also be happily returning to the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival stage this August and we’ll be making our first appearance at the Writer’s at Woody Point Festival alongside our pal, Alan Doyle and legendary Canadian writer, Michael Ondaatje. I look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones on the road!
